Project Overview
The Kingswood Cabinets Portal is a full-featured, cloud-hosted Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system developed exclusively for Kingswood Cabinets, a cabinet manufacturing company based in Australia. The platform digitises and integrates every business process — from the first client quote through to post-installation field service — into a single, role-secured web application accessible by all internal teams in real time.
SAM replaces fragmented spreadsheets and manual processes across quoting, production, procurement, and field service teams — giving Kingswood Cabinets a single source of truth, improved operational visibility, faster quote turnaround, and tighter control over inventory and quality.
Challenges
Cabinet manufacturing is a multi-stage, multi-team operation with tightly coupled dependencies between quoting, production scheduling, materials procurement, and field installation. Kingswood Cabinets had historically relied on disconnected spreadsheets and paper-based workflows, resulting in data silos, quote delays, inventory inaccuracies, and limited visibility across the business. The goal was to consolidate every operational workflow into a single, real-time platform without disrupting day-to-day operations.
Solutions We Engineered
- Unified Quote-to-Install Pipeline: Built a dynamic quote builder supporting cabinet units, joinery parts, stone benchtops, hardware, and plumbing specs — with revision tracking, approval workflows, and automated PDF generation via Apache PDFBox.
- Production Management Suite: Delivered a real-time WIP dashboard across work centres, cutting list generation, CNC robot export reporting, and full edge banding process management including machine assignments and tape stock tracking.
- Procurement & Inventory Control: Implemented purchase order generation, call-up (material request) tracking, and full stock-take cycle wizards (count → recount → review → approval) for hardware, melamine, and edge tape.
- Quality & Field Service Modules: Developed site audit forms with annotated image markup, defect-to-draft tracking, field service job scheduling on a calendar dashboard, and zone-to-agent territory mapping.
- Role-Based Security: Engineered RBAC using Spring Security + OAuth2 + JWT with brute-force login protection (5 attempts, 60-second lockout), per-request HTTP audit logging, and AOP-based performance tracing.
- Automated Cloud Deployments: Configured three fully automated environments (Dev, Staging, Production) via GitLab CI / AWS CodeBuild, with Liquibase handling database schema migrations and AWS S3 managing all file attachments.
